BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands’ Luca Madeo (Track) and Mark Lawin (Field) named the Mid-South Conference Men's Track and Field Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
MSC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Luca Madeo – Cumberlands (Ky.) – So. – Distance
- Madeo opened his season with an A standard time of 14:14.38 in the 5000m at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
- His time ranks fourth in the NAIA this season.
MSC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Mark Lawin – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Fr. – Multis
- Lawin captured the heptathlon title with 5,061 points, ranking seventh in the NAIA this season.
- Lawin won the shot put (13.78m), 60m hurdles (8.69), and pole vault (4.45m), while also finishing second in the long jump (6.74m) and scoring consistently across all seven events.
