Hay named NAIA Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo.
 - Campbellsville (Ky.) senior forward Whitney Hay has been named the NAIA Women’s Basketball Gared Sports Performance Offensive Player of the Week after powering the Lady Tigers through a perfect 3-0 stretch with a dominant, efficient scoring run.

Hay was the constant offensive engine in three victories, averaging 23.7 points per game while shooting 54 percent from the field. She totaled 71 points over the week and scored at least 20 in every contest.

Her week began with a statement performance on the road at No. 15 Cumberlands (Ky.) in an 81-63 win on Feb. 2. Hay poured in 25 points in 27 minutes, repeatedly getting to the foul line and converting 11 of 12 free throws. She also added five assists.

Hay followed that up on Feb. 5 with her best scoring night of the week, posting 26 points in a 78-67 win over Georgetown (Ky.). She was highly efficient, hitting 10 of 17 shots from the floor and adding six more made free throws. 

She closed the week on Feb. 7 by continuing her efficient production in a 74-64 win over Cumberland (Tenn.), scoring 20 points on 10-for-15 shooting. Hay also contributed across the box score with four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Across the three games, Hay finished 27-of-49 from the field and 17-of-19 at the line.
