BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Mid-South Conference unveiled the 2026 men's soccer awards on Wednesday.
Cumberland (Tenn.) swept all five of the major individual awards for the 2026 season.
Luis Cerejo is the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year, Mark Donaldson is the MSC Defensive Player of the Year, and David Barbakadze is the MSC Freshman of the Year.
Brian Davies was selected by his peers as the MSC Coach of the Year, while Hendrik Metje is the MSC Assistant Coach of the Year.
Conference coaches vote for the individual awards as well as the all-conference teams. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.
Cerejo leads the Mid-South Conference with 25 points and is tied for the conference lead with nine assists. His eight goals tie for the fourth-most in the conference. Cerejo is the second straight Phoenix to earn MSC Player of the Year honors.
Mark Donaldson anchored a Cumberland backline that surrendered just 1.17 goals per outing this season. He has also scored a goal and added two assists this season for the Phoenix. Donaldson is the second Cumberland player to earn MSC Defensive Player of the Year, and the first since the 2018 season.
Barbakadze is tied for second in the MSC in scoring (23 points) and goals (10). Barbakadze is the second straight Phoenix and fourth overall to earn MSC Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year.
Davies and Metje led Cumberland Mid-South Conference men's soccer regular-season title in 2026. The Phoenix scored 14 points in the table after posting a 4-0-2 conference record. The regular-season crown is Cumberland's second in program history, after they also claimed the title in 2018.
Fifteen student-athletes are selected for the first team, and another 15 earn second-team honors.
