Three Mid-South Women’s Soccer Teams mentioned in NAIA Women’s Soccer Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - - Three Mid-South Conference teams are represented in the latest NAIA Women’s Soccer Top 25 Poll, with all three programs ranked among the nation’s top 25, NAIA officials announced Wednesday.

The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) comes in at No. 6 with a record of 5-1-3. The Patriots entered the previous poll ranked No. 3 and remain among the nation’s top teams despite the three-spot drop.

The Patriots are 2-0-1 in their last three matches and have outscored their opponents 12-2 during that stretch. Cumberlands is coming off an 8-0 win over Georgetown College (Ky.), a 2-2 draw with Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), and a 2-0 victory over No. 12 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).

Lindsey Wilson comes in at No. 19 with a 5-3-1 record. The Blue Raiders entered the previous poll at No. 12 and are coming off back-to-back losses to now ranked  No. 16 Tennessee Southern and No. 6 Cumberlands.

Cumberland University (Tenn.) dropped three spots to No. 22 with a 10-2-1 record. The Phoenix were ranked No. 19 in the previous poll and are currently riding a five-match winning streak. Cumberland has No. 12 Lindsey Wilson, No. 6 Cumberlands, and No. 10 Life University remaining on its schedule.

Keiser University (Fla.) remains at No. 1 with an 8-0-2 record and received five first-place votes. Indiana Wesleyan moved to No. 2 with a 9-1-2 record, followed by Benedictine (Kan.) at No. 3. College of Idaho is ranked No. 4 at 8-0-1, while Grace (Ind.) rounds out the top five at No. 5.

The fourth NAIA Women’s Soccer Top 25 Poll is scheduled to be released Wednesday, Oct. 14.
