BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Javiero Izquierdo and Bethel’s (Tenn.) Gregory Cousins are the Mid-South Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Javiero Izquierdo – Cumberlands – Sr. – Goalkeeper – Candás, Asturias, Spain
- Izquierdo’s eight saves and a .800 save percentage across the Patriots’ two matches last week.
- The senior recorded his third shutout of the season in the team’s first contest, besting the Georgetown Tigers, 3-0.
- Izquierdo earns his second conference weekly honor of this season and the fifth of his career.
MSC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Gregory Cousins – Bethel – Sr. – Forward – Kingston, Jamaica
- Cousins had a hat trick and two assists in the Wildcats’ 6-1 victory against the Freed-Hardeman Lions.
- Cousins earns his first weekly conference honor this season and of his career.
