WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) goes back to back, winning the Mid-South Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship Monday at The James H. Taylor, II Stadium on the Campus of the University of the Cumberlands.
The Patriots scored 268 team points to win the championship, getting it done in both the indoors and outdoors this season.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished second with 166 points while Campbellsville (Ky.) ended in third with 132 points.
Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Dinkon Sinisterra was named the MSC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year. Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Mustapha Bopkin was named MSC Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands' Bradley Sowder was voted the MSC Coach of the Year by his peers. Cumberland’s assistant, Cecilia Francis Amou-Berry, earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
The athletes of the year are selected based on total points earned during the championship.
Cumberland (Tenn.) finished fourth with 128 points, Bethel (Tenn.) was fifth with 44 points, Georgetown (Ky.) in sixth with 35 points, and rounding out the teams, Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) finishes with 29 points.
