BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Top-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) and second-seeded Cumberland (Tenn.) remained unbeaten at the 2025 Mid-South Conference Baseball Tournament at Bowling Green Ballpark.
The Patriots and Phoenix meet in the winner's bracket final tomorrow, while third-seeded Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and fifth-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) also remain alive but must fight through the consolation bracket if they hope to play for the tournament title.
Once again, forecasted rain has forced the adjustment of tomorrow's game times.
Cumberlands and Cumberland meet at 9:30 a.m. CT, while Freed-Hardeman and Campbellsville play at 1 p.m. CT. The Cumberlands-Cumberland loser plays the Freed-Hardeman-Campbellsville winner at 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday.
Campbellsville (Ky.) vs. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) - Box Score
Trent Buchanan hit a pair of home runs and amassed seven RBIs in a 13-1 seven-inning win over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) in today's opener.
Buchanan's homers in back-to-back innings helped the Tigers (31-18) score nine times in the two innings en route to the win. He finished the day with a team-high four hits.
Brody Forno (3-4) collected the win, allowing three hits and striking out five in four scoreless innings. Forno exited the game following a one-hour and 39-minute rain delay. Shoki Fukui pitched the final three innings of the run-ruled game, allowing a run on three hits.
Lindsey Wilson (9-39) is eliminated from the tournament with the loss.
Bethel (Tenn.) vs. Cumberlands (Ky.) - Box Score
Cumberlands’ Kailen Hamson -- the Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Year -- struck out 11 Bethel hitters over 7-1/3 scoreless innings in an 8-4 win. He improves to 11-0 this season with the win.
Hamson and the Patriots (43-8) looked like they were coasting to the win, leading the Wildcats (22-18) 8-0 entering the bottom of the ninth inning. Bethel scored four times in the final inning and had the game-tying run at the plate. Cumberlands' J.D. Price forced a ground ball against the only batter he would face to pick up his eighth save of the season.
Derrick Andiarena -- who homered in the game -- and Max Harper tallied two hits to pace the Cumberlands' offense. Andiarena finished the game 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs.
Bethel is eliminated from the tournament with the loss.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) vs. Cumberland (Tenn.) - Box Score
Trenton Duchsherer hit a three-run home run and drove in five runs to lead Cumberland to a 12-5 victory over Freed-Hardeman.
Duchsherer’s seventh-inning home run was part of a five-run inning that busted the game wide open. Javier Beal contributed one RBI and two runs, going 3-of-5 at the plate.
Justin Goldstein and Jake Green split the duties on the mound for the Phoenix. Green picked up the win in relief, firing 4-1/3 scoreless innings, while striking out four.
