Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) & Georgetown (Ky.) advance to the 2025 NAIA Men's Basketball Championships Quarterfinals

Kanas City, Mo.–  The Round of sixteen of the 2025 Men’s Basketball Championships has concluded as two out of the three Mid-South Conference teams advance. 

Starting with Georgetown Ky., No. 2 seed Georgetown (Ky.) defeated No. 6 seed Northwestern (Iowa) 73-70 (Box Score). Jaquias Franklin exploded for the Tigers with 23 points in a closely contested second half. Georgetown advances to the Quarterfinals as they will face No. 1 seed College of Idaho. This game will take place at 3 p.m. CT on March 22nd. 

No. 4 seed Cumberlands (Ky.) season came to a close in the round of sixteen, falling to No. 1 seed Arizona Christian 76-86 (Box Score). The Patriots fell behind early after the Firestorm put up 50 in the first half. Anthony Johnson wouldn’t go quietly as he dropped 32 points but was the only patriot to reach double digits in scoring. 

Defending Champions No. 1 seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) defeated No. 4 Life (Ga.) 85-71 (Box Score). The Lions put up 54 in the first half to dominate throughout the game. 10 separate Lions would score this game, led by Peyton Law who had 23 in this game, despite struggling in their previous two games. Freed-Hardeman advances to the quarterfinals, where they will face No 11 Southern Oregon. This game will take place at 5 p.m. on March 22nd.
