BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bethel University's Walker Ward (Pitcher) and Campbellsville University’s Zane Skansi (Player) have been named the Mid-South Conference Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.
MSC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Walker Ward – Bethel (Tenn.) – Fr. – Bedford, Ind.
- Ward had a historic outing firing a no-hitter and allowing just one base runner against Waldorf.
- He had five strikeouts and walked just one batter in Bethel's 1-0 win in 7 innings.
- Ward becomes the first Wildcat to earn this honor and is now the third from Bethel to earn a weekly honor.
MSC Baseball Player of the Week
Zane Skansi – Campbellsville (Ky.) – Sr. – Gig Harbor, Washington
- Skansi had an impressive week winning 5 games, 4-0 against Madonna and 1-0 against Midway.
- The Senior in 19 at bats, recorded 8 runs, 8 hits, 2 home runs, and 7 RBI’s. His batting average was .421 and a .737 slugging percentage.
- Skansi adds 6 putouts while becoming the second Tiger to earn weekly honors, and the first to earn this category honor.
