BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Mid-South Women’s Bowling Championships are underway here at the Southern Lanes in Bowling Green, Kentucky! After day 1 multiple champions were crowned individually before tournament play took place.
Pikeville (Ky.) would see early success in Doubles play as their own Victoria Hines and Vanessa Fuzie would take home the gold in the Doubles Championship with a score of 1319. The Bears wouldn’t stop there, collecting silver as the duo of Katarina Hagler and Erica Warne would score 1266. Placing third and collecting bronze would be the duo of Avery Reeves and Afton Lords of Midway University with a score of 1224.
Moving on to Singles, Pikeville (Ky.) would again see success as Victoria Hines would strike again, earning the Championship and the gold with a score of 704. Brianna Rogers of Pikeville(Ky.) would get into the action, earning the silver with a score of 651. Lastly Midway’s (Ky.) Maegan Coleman would earn the bronze with a third-place finish with a score of 624.
In Tournament play, #2 Pikeville defeated #7 Union 4-0, #1 Cumberland defeated #8 Campbellsville 4-0, #3 Midway defeated #6 Lindsey Wilson 4-1, and #4 Cumberlands defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 4-2.
Tomorrow, action is set to take place at 9:00 a.m. CT at the Southern Lanes in Bowling Green, Kentucky with the continuation of the Tournament.
