BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Kenyata Carbon and Cumberland’s Jake Hatch are the Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Jake Hatch – Cumberland (Tenn.) – So. – Forward – Hoover, Ala.
- Hatch was instrumental to the Phoenix’s 76-68 upset over #20 Dalton State (Ga.), swatting four shots and grabbing steal.
- The sophomore also pulled down eight rebounds in the contest.
- Hatch earns the first weekly honor of this season and of his career.
MSC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Kenyata Carbon – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – Jr. – Guard – Owensboro, Ky.
- Carbon averaged 27 points, 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks for the Blue Raiders and their 1-1 week.
- The junior shot 57.1% from the field and also reached 999 career points.
- Carbon earns his second weekly conference honor this season and of his career.
