Campbellsville, Lindsey Wilson Compete in NAIA Football Championship Series Second Round on Saturday

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and No. 15-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) begin their postseason on Saturday in the NAIA Football Championship Series Second Round.

The Blue Raiders (9-1) host No. 10-ranked Indiana Wesleyan at noon CT on Saturday in Columbia, while the Tigers (8-2) travel to No. 3-ranked Benedictine (Kan.) in Atchison, Kansas.

The games are two of eight across the NAIA on Saturday. The eight winners advance to next Saturday's national quarterfinals.

Lindsey Wilson makes its ninth appearance in the NAIA FCS after earning the Mid-South Conference's automatic bid into the FCS with the MSC's regular-season championship. The Blue Raiders are 12-7 all-time in the FCS, including winning the 2020 national championship.

Indiana Wesleyan (9-2) captured the Mid-States Football Association MidEast Division title. The Wildcats are making their fifth appearance in the FCS. Indiana Wesleyan is 4-4 all-time in the FCS and 0-2 in road FCS games.

The game features two of the NAIA's top-10 highest-scoring offenses. The Wildcats are fourth in the NAIA, averaging 50.5 points per game, while the Blue Raiders are 10th with 43.6 points per outing. Indiana Wesleyan ranks fourth in the NAIA, averaging 528.5 yards per game, while Lindsey Wilson is 14th with 456.1.

Campbellsville is making its fifth NAIA FCS appearance and its first since the 2015 season after receiving an at-large bid into the FCS. The Tigers are 1-4 all-time in the FCS.

Benedictine (10-1) won the Heart of America South Division. The Ravens are making their 16th FCS appearance and are 8-15 all-time in the playoffs.

Campbellsville and Benedictine also boast prolific offenses. The Tigers are 12th in the NAIA in scoring at 41.5 points per game, while the Ravens average 51.2 points per game, third best in the nation. Campbellsville averages 459.2 yards of total offense per game compared to Benedictine's 500.3 yards of total offense per outing.
