BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Georgetown's Gehrig Slunaker, Isaiah Wills-Jackson, and Lindsey Wilson's Jadan Burns are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
MSC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Isaiah Wills-Jackson – Georgetown (Ky.) – Jr. – Defensive Back – Gahanna, Ohio
- Wills-Jackson recorded seven tackles in the Tigers' 34-32 upset win over No. 10-ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) on Saturday.
- He added a tackle for a loss and a pass breakup in the win.
- Maybe his biggest play of the game was a blocked extra point.
- Wills-Jackson has 37 tackles this season, including 24 solo tackles.
- Georgetown ends the season at 7-3 following the win.
- He earns his second weekly conference honor of the season.
MSC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Gehrig Slunaker – Georgetown (Ky.) – Sr. – Quarterback – Fortville, Ind.
- Slunaker threw four touchdowns in Georgetown's win on Saturday.
- He finished the day 21-for-33 and 228 yards in the win.
- Slunaker's four touchdown tosses came from three, four, 41, and 47 yards.
- He finished the season completing 57 percent of his passes for 1,703 yards and 15 touchdowns.
- Georgetown is ranked No. 18 in the first regular-season top-25 poll.
- Slunaker earns his first weekly conference honor this season.
MSC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Jadan Burns – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) – So. – Kicker – Gadsden, Ala.
- Burns scored nine points in Lindsey Wilson's 33-14 win at Bethel (Tenn.) on Saturday.
- He connected on both of his field goals and hit three extra point attempts.
- Burns hit from 27 and 33 yards during the game.
- He also averaged 57.3 yards with his seven kickoffs, including five touchbacks.
- Burns is tied for third in the Mid-South among kickers with 70 points. He has made seven of his eight field goal tries this season.
- Burns helped the Blue Raiders improve to 9-1 on the season and win the MSC regular-season title with the victory.
- He earns his second weekly conference honor of the season.
