Movement for the MSC in Netting Professionals NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches’ Poll

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- There was a lot of movement for the Mid-South Conference in the latest Netting Professionals NAIA Football Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, NAIA officials announced on Monday.

Campbellsville (Ky.), Georgetown (Ky.), and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) all remain ranked in this week's poll while Bethel (Tenn.), Cumberland (Tenn.), and Faulkner (Ala.) are outside the top-25, but are receiving voting points.

Lindsey Wilson (7-1) is the top-ranked MSC team at No. 9. The Blue Raiders climbed one spot in the poll after picking up 319 voting points from the national raters. Lindsey Wilson defeated Faulkner 48-10 on Saturday. The Blue Raiders are off this week before hosting Cumberland on Nov. 8.

Campbellsville (6-1) slipped five places to No. 11 after suffering a 35-33 loss at Cumberland on Saturday. The Tigers garnered 287 voting points in this week's poll. Campbellsville returns to action on Saturday at Faulkner in Montgomery, Alabama.

Georgetown (5-2) moved up two spots to No. 16 this week despite being off last week. The Tigers received 217 voting points from the raters. Georgetown travels to Bethel this week in McKenzie, Tennessee.

Cumberland (5-3) is just outside the top 25 with 87 voting points. The Phoenix upset Campbellsville on Saturday and hosts Cumberlands (Ky.) this Saturday.

Bethel (3-3) garnered three voting points, and Faulkner (4-4) picked up two points from the raters.

Grand View (Iowa) remains atop the national poll with 436 voting points, while Keiser (Fla.) is No. 2 with 422 voting points, and Benedictine (Kan.) is No. 3 with 406 points.

The next poll is scheduled to be released on Monday, Nov. 3.

 

Ratings Methodology

  • The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
  • A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
  • The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system: 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
  • The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
  • Teams receiving only one point are not listed as “receiving votes.”
