Kansas City, Mo– The Mid-South is happy to announce that one of their own, Tommy Chasanoff, has earned the 2023-2024 NAIA Sports Information Director of the Year.

While we at the Mid-South strive to promote the student athletes in all 28 sports our conference represents, it is important to remember the staff who make those athletes sport possible. Tommy Chasanoff is a distinguished Sports Information Director, where he has made a significant impact since his hire in September 2016.

Chasanoff has played a crucial role in overseeing the Sports Information Department. Under his leadership, UC’s Sports Information Department has flourished, achieving record success and recognition, including Chasanoff being named the NAIA Sports Information Director of the Year in 2020, now again in 2024. He has also been awarded the Mid-South Conference Bill Sergent Sports Information Director of the Year an outstanding four times.

Commissioner Eric Leach noting his thoughts on this honor: “Tommy exemplifies what all SID’s should strive for in representing their university.  He holds a very high standard, leads his staff by example, and represents his university well.  Tommy also is a great asset to the Mid-South Conference in assisting with five of our Championships.”

Tommy Chasanoff is valued immensely here at the Mid-South, and more so at the University of the Cumberlands, congratulations Tommy!
