BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Cumberlands (Ky.) men's swimming & diving student-athlete Ruthiik Satti has been named the 2025-26 Mid-South Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Year, MSC officials announced on Thursday.

The Mid-South Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Year award is presented to a graduating student-athlete and selected based on academic and athletic performances, leadership qualities, and their demonstration of the five core character values of the NAIA. Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Student-Athletes of the Year award.

Satti is a 17-time NAIA All-American and the 2026 NAIA National Champion in the 100-meter backstroke. He helped Cumberlands to a national runner-up finish this season at the national championships -- the best finish in the program's history.

Satti was the 2024-25 Mid-South Conference Men's Swimmer of the Year. He has earned All Mid-South Conference honors 20 times in his decorated career.

"Cumberlands gave me a national title, a degree, a company, and the relationships that made all three possible," Satti said. "Whatever I do next, I will carry the standard the team taught me in the dining hall: the standard you hold when no one is checking, because that is the only kind of excellence that lasts."

Academically, Satti is a two-time NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete and three-time Academic All Mid-South Conference recipient. He graduated from Cumberlands last May Cum Laude, while earning the J. T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society -- the highest academic honor that a Cumberlands student can receive.

He was selected as the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for the NAIA in 2025-26 -- one of four men's swimmers selected nationally across the NAIA and all three NCAA divisions.

Cumberlands Dean of the School of Business and Communication and Co-Dean of the College of Business, Communication, and Information Technology Daniel Kanyam praised Satti for his ability to balance his academics and athletics.

"Ruthiik is one of those rare students who excels simultaneously as a scholar, athlete, entrepreneur, and servant leader," Kanyam said. "While many student-athletes demonstrate excellence in one or two of these areas, Ruthiik has distinguished himself across all of them. His accomplishments reflect not only talent but also an exceptional level of discipline, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to personal growth."

Satti's leadership includes serving as a member of the Cumberlands Student Government Association, founding the University Market Exchange—a student-to-student campus marketplace platform —and serving as captain of the Cumberlands swimming & diving team in 2025-26.

"What truly sets Ruthiik apart and makes him uniquely deserving of this honor is that his athletic brilliance is completely matched by his academic excellence and exceptional character," former Cumberlands swimming & diving head coach Eric Skelly said. "He was named the 2025-26 CSC NAIA Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year while consistently maintaining elite standards in the classroom, personifying the balance we expect out of our finest conference representatives."

Satti is the 12th Cumberlands student-athlete to earn Mid-South Conference Male Student-Athlete of the Year.
