Davis and Wordui selected as Mid-South Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands’ Tavon Davis (Track) and Lindsey Wilson’s Maxwell Mordui (Field) were named the Mid-South Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Players of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

MSC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Tavon Davis – Cumberlands (Ky.) – Jr. – Utica, MS – Sprints

 
  • Davis won the 400m and 4x400 at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational with a pair of NAIA A standards, both the fastest times in the NAIA this season.
  • He clocked a 45.67 in the 400 and ran the third leg of his team’s 4x400 which finished in 3:07.69. Both times broke the previous school records at Cumberlands.
  • This marks the fourth MSC weekly honors of the outdoor season for Davis.
 
MSC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week

Maxwell Wordui – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.)  – Jumps

 
  • Wordui came away with a runner-up, A standard long jump finish at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational this week.
  • He finished second with a 7.48m leap. His mark
  • This marks the first weekly honors of the outdoor season for Wordui.
