LANSING, Mich. -- No. 11-seed Cumberland (Tenn.) fell to 7-seed St. Francis (Ill.) in the consolation bracket of the NAIA Men's Bowling National Championship at Royal Scot.
With the loss, Cumberland's NAIA Tournament run comes to an end.
Cumberland and St. Francis competed in a best-of-seven Baker match. A Baker match is a team-based format where five bowlers combine to bowl a single 10-frame game, with each player responsible for two specific frames.
The Phoenix won the first game 222-208. St. Francis rebounded to win the next four games, 202-160, 226-222, 223-194, and 214-194 to win the match 4-1.
The national tournament concludes on Saturday.
