Freed-Hardeman Heading to Championship Game, Beats Cumberlands 71-63

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Lilly Kee and Jenna Satterly combined for 43 points to lead No. 2-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) to a 71-63 win over sixth-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) today in the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinals at Bowling Green Arena.

The Lions (26-3) advance to Monday's championship game to face top-seeded Bethel (Tenn.). Tip-off for the finals is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.

Freed-Hardeman and Cumberlands produced a back-and-forth first quarter that featured two ties and four lead changes. Satterly scored in the final minute of the first frame to give the Lions a 14-13 lead. The Lions led the rest of the way.

Freed-Hardeman extended the lead to 11 in the second quarter and to 13 after intermission en route to the win. Cumberlands fought back within four points on three different occasions in the second half, but could get no closer.

Kee -- who was named the H&W-Dukes Sports Player of the Game for a second straight game -- made nine of her 13 shots while pulling down 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.

Kee helped the Lions dominate in the interior, outscoring the Patriots (19-11) 40-22 in the paint.

Cumberlands' Joy Kendrick led the Patriots with a game-high 26 points.
