BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- No. 6-seed Cumberlands (Ky.) held third-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) to 28 points below its season average in a 59-47 win in the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Quarterfinals today at Bowling Green Arena.
The Patriots advance to Sunday's second semifinal, where they will meet No. 2-seed Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.). Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT.
Cumberlands (19-10) held Lindsey Wilson to just five second-quarter points to lead 23-18 at the half. The Patriots then went on a 9-0 run out of the locker room and coasted to the win.
Cumberlands shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) while limiting Lindsey Wilson (21-8) to just 27.8 percent (15-of-54).
Joy Kendrick -- the H&W-Dukes Player of the Game -- scored a game-high 17 points in the win. Aden Clark scored 11 points off the Cumberlands bench. The Patriots' reserves outscored their counterparts 34-9.
Lindsey Wilson's Meadow Tisdale was the lone Blue Raider in double figures. She finished with 13 points.
