BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberland’s (Tenn.) Michael Nwoye and Georgetown’s (Ky.) Bubba Leavall are the Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.

MSC Men’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Nwoye – Cumberland (Tenn.) – Fr. – Forward – Antioch, Tenn.

• Nwoye averaged 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks for the Phoenix’s 1-1 week.
• In Cumberland’s overtime win against the Bethel (Tenn.) Wildcats, the freshman grabbed 13 rebounds, blocked five shots, and swiped three steals.
• Nwoye earns his second weekly honor of the season.

MSC Men’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Bubba Leavall – Georgetown (Ky.) – Jr. – Guard – Hopkinsville, Ky.

• For the Tigers, Leavall put up 19.5 points per game through their 2-0 week.
• The junior posted 25 points and seven three-pointers in their four-point victory over Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
• Leavall earns his first weekly honor of the season.
