BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands (Ky.) is ranked and Cumberland (Tenn.) is receiving voting points in the NAIA Baseball GoRout Coaches’ Top 25 Postseason Poll, national officials announced on Wednesday.
The Patriots -- who reached the NAIA World Series -- are No. 6 in the final poll. Cumberlands (50-12) received 348 voting points from the national raters.
Cumberland is one of nine teams just outside the Top-25 poll, but receiving voting points.
The Phoenix garnered 43 voting points.
LSU Shreveport (La.) received 420 voting points and all 16 first-place votes after completing a 59-0 season and winning the national championship at the Avista NAIA World Series.
Southeastern (Fla.) is No. 2 with 406 voting points, followed by No. 3 Georgia Gwinnett, No. 4 Hope International (Calif.), and No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan.
A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) voted in the poll.
