Weather Disrupts Action as Cumberland, Lindsey Wilson Advance in 2025 MSC Softball Championships

Cumberland (Tenn.) stormed out to a six-run first inning and held off a Bethel (Tenn.) comeback to notch a 7-6 win Friday morning at Cathi Maynard Park in the 2025 Softball Championships.

Anna Lay led the Phoenix offense with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in one run and doubling. Sara Brogdon added two RBIs, while Jacey Hatfield, Abby Chappell, Brylee Bartley, and Hailey Donato each chipped in one. 

Madison Croxford tossed 4.2 innings, allowing six runs, one earned, on six hits with three strikeouts. Madison Lancaster earned the win in relief, throwing 2.1 hitless innings to improve to 6-8 on the year.

Cumberland advances in the winner’s bracket, while Bethel’s season comes to a close.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) jumped out to a fast start, scoring seven runs across the first three innings to eliminate Campbellsville (Ky.) with a 7-2 victory Friday evening, following a 7-hour weather delay.

Sam Hartman powered the Blue Raiders’ offense with a pair of home runs and four RBIs, while Brylee Pickerell and Olivia Franceschi each added solo shots. Kaiden Rodgers also drove in a run, and Natalie Wandrie went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored.

Kayden Murray earned the complete-game win in the circle, allowing just one earned run on five hits over seven innings. She struck out four without issuing a walk, improving to 12-8 on the season.

Lindsey Wilson advances in the elimination bracket, set to play Cumberland (Tenn.) at 3:30 P.M. tomorrow, May 3rd, while Campbellsville concludes its season.
