Cumberlands (Ky.) Wins the MSC Outdoor Archery Championships; captures Seventh Straight MSC Archery Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Cumberlands (Ky.) captures the 2025 MSC Outdoor Archery Championships for the Seventh straight season. The Patriots tallied 10 gold medals and 230 points Saturday afternoon at the UC All-Purpose Field. The Patriots set a new MSC Outdoor Archery Record, eclipsing last year's total of 221 points, as 230 points becomes the new outdoor record. 

The Patriots tallied 25 podium finishes, which included 10 gold, 10 silver, and 5 bronze medals. Cumberlands took gold in women's team compound, women’s compound, men’s compound, mixed team compound, women’s fixed pins, men’s fixed pins, women’s team fixed pins, mixed team fixed pins, men’s barebow, and women’s recurve team.  

Following the conclusion of the championship, the MSC All-Conference and individual honors were announced. Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Tanner Barker was named the Men's Archer of the Year while Pikeville's Kennadi Mayer earned Women's Archer of the Year honors.

Cumberlands' (Ky.) Brodie Vinson was named MSC Men’s Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Hananh Summers was named MSC Women’s Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands' Kris Strebeck was named Coach of the Year, while Caleb Kirby earned Assistant Coach of the Year, both going back-to-back with this honor.

The University of Pikeville (Ky.) finished runner-up with 131 points, tallying 14 podium finishes with 6 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Pikeville won conference championships in men’s team fixed pins, women’s barebow, men’s team barebow, mixed team barebow, women’s recurve, and mixed team recurve. 

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished in third with 128 points, tallying 14 podium finishes with 4 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals. The Blue Raiders won conference championships in men’s team compound, women’s team barebow, men’s recurve, and men’s team recurve. 

Union (Ky.) finished with 38 points, earning 3 bronze medals. Campbellsville (Ky.) finished with 29 points, earning 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Midway (Ky.) finished with 14 points and 1 bronze medal.
