Freed-Hardeman beats Lindsey Wilson in a defensive struggle to close out the MSC Women's Basketball Quarterfinals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. --
Freed-Hardeman's (Tenn.) Jenna Satterly scored with 23.2 seconds left to help the third-seeded Lions to a 48-46 come-from-behind win over sixth-seeded Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) tonight in the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Quarterfinals at Studles Financial Arena.

Freed-Hardeman (25-4) advances to play second-seed Campbellsville (25-2) at 2:30 p.m. CT on Monday, March 3, in the second semifinal. Top-seeded Cumberlands (Ky.) and fifth-seeded Bethel (Tenn.) meet in the first semifinal at noon CT.

The Lions ended the game on a 9-0 run while holding the Blue Raiders (16-13) scoreless over the final 5:33.

Lindsey Wilson looked to be in control for much of the second half, building as much as an eight-point lead on multiple occasions. The Blue Raiders led 46-39 with 5:33 left before missing their final nine shots, including a potential game-tying jumper with two seconds left in regulation.

The Lions erased the deficit by shooting over 55 percent in the fourth quarter. The hot finish came after they struggled offensively much of the game. Freed-Hardeman shot 38.6 percent (17-of-44) from the field for the game.

Freed-Hardeman stayed within striking distance thanks to its defense. The Lions held the Blue Raiders to 27.8 percent (15-of-54) shooting from the field while forcing 13 turnovers.

Kaylee Odom led the Lions with 13 points while Kelsey Bender ended with seven points and 11 rebounds. Satterly finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

Claire Fleming led the Blue Raiders with 15 points.
