Life (Ga.) Wins the MSC 2024-25 Women's Wrestling Tournament Championship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Life University captured the 2024-25 Mid-South Conference Women's Wrestling Tournament title Friday at Ephram White Gymnasium.

Life University earns their fourth straight MSC Tournament Championship. The Eagles top the 12-team field totaling 221.5 points to take home the championship. The University of the Cumberlands finished runner-up with 159 points. While Lindsey Wilson College finished third with 146 points. 

Campbellsville (Ky.) finished in fourth place with 142 points, Indiana Tech (Ind.) finished in fifth with 126 points, Lourdes (Ohio) finished sixth with 34 points, Montreat (NC.) finished in seventh with 24 points, Siena Heights finished in eighth with 18.5 points, Brewton-Parker (Ga.) finished in ninth with 9 points. Rounding out the conference, Rio Grande (Ohio) finished in tenth with 7.5 points, St. Andrews (NC.) finished in eleventh with 6.5 points, and Rochester (MI.) finished in twelfth with 2.5 points.

Life (Ga.) had the most individual champions with seven. Katherine Hernandez (103), Anaya Falcon (110), Salyna Shotwell (117), Sarah Savidge (131), Zaynah Mcbryde (138), Jamilah Mcbryde (145), Latifah Mcbryde (160) all won championships for the Eagles.

Cumberlands (Ky.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.), and Indiana Tech (Ind.) make up the remaining champions with one apiece. Katie Gomez (124) of Cumberlands, India Page (180) of Lindsey Wison, and Riley Dempewolf (207) of Indiana Tech were champions. 

All 10 winners earn first-team all-conference honors, with the runner-up finishers receiving second-team honors, and third-place finishers earning third-team all-conference.

Following the tournament, Life’s Anaya Falcon was named MSC Wrestler of the Year. Cumberlands’ Katie Gomez was named MSC Freshman of the Year. Indiana Tech’s Riley Dempewolf was named MSC Wrestler of the Tournament. Cumberlands’ Jesse Kirby was named MSC Assistant Coach of the Year. Indiana Tech’s Paul Rademacher was named MSC Head Coach of the Year.
