Cumberlands (Ky.) goes back-to-back winning the MSC Men's Basketball Regular Season Championship

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – The University of the Cumberlands captures the 2024-25 Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Regular Season Championship. The Patriots go back-to-back, earning their fourth MSC regular season title. 

Cumberlands (Ky.) secures the title after a 78-77 win over Bethel (Tenn.), finishing the season 10-2 in conference play and 21-7 overall. The Patriots are third in the nation in points per game, averaging 92. From the field, Cumberlands is 10th in the nation from the field, shooting 50.3 percent.

Offensively the Patriots are led by Anthony Johnson, who averages 23.1 points per game and totals a team-high 63 three-pointers. Defensively Matthew Cromer holds it down, leading the team in rebounds and steals. Cromer finishes the regular season with 173 rebounds and 51 blocks. 

This locks Cumberlands as the No. 1 seed in the MSC Tournament which takes place Sunday, March 2, at Studle Financial Arena on the campus of Bowling Green High School.
