Cumberlands (Ky.) wins the 2025 Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Tournament

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the 2024-25 Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Tournament title Friday at Ephram White Gymnasium.

The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) last won the title in the 2021-22 season. Cumberlands topped the six-team field with 170 points followed by runner-up Campbellsville (Ky.) with 151 points and Cumberland (Tenn.) in third with 140.5 points.

Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finished fourth with 91 points, Midway (Ky.) was fifth with 71 points and Rio Grande (Ohio) rounded out the team standings with 48 points
.  

Cumberlands (Ky.) had the most individual champions with four. Matteo Vargo (125), Chandlar Akins (133), Turner Black (165), and Austin Silva (285) all won championships for the Patriots.

Cumberland (Tenn.) and Campbellsville (Ky.) make up the remaining Champions with 3 individuals each. Cumberland’s Jared Dinh (141), Rocco Harvath (184), and Tyler Rowland (197) all won championships for the Phoneix. 

Campbellsville’ Nicholas Yancey (149), Tyler Muldrew (157), and Shadrick Slone (174) all won Championships for the Tigers
All 10 winners earn first-team all-conference honors, with the runner-up finishers receiving second-team honors, and third-place finishers earning third-team all-conference.

Following the tournament, Cumberlands’ Austin Silva was named MSC Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands Turner Black was named MSC Wrestler of the Tournament. Campbellsville’s Michael Diemer was named MSC Assistant Coach of the Year. Cumberlands Corey Ruff was named MSC Head Coach of the Year. MSC Wrestler of the Year will be named following the NAIA National Tournament.
