BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After hitting a trio of NAIA provisional cuts, Shawnee State’s (Ohio) De-Nicha Lewis has been selected as the Mid-South Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Pinnacle Financial Partners sponsors the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week Award program. Pinnacle Financial Partners was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, with banks in eight states in the southeast United States.
De-Nicha Lewis – Shawnee State (Ohio) – Sr. – Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
- Lewis notched a trio of NAIA provisional cuts, while competing in five events at the Wooster Invitational.
- The senior clocked a 24.03 in the 50 free, while clocking a 53.43 in the 100 free to place second and clip the NAIA provisional cut.
- She followed that up with a season-best time of 2:00.68 in the 200 free hitting her third national cut.
- Lewis was also part of a pair of Bears relays that went 1:50.46 (200 medley relay) and 1:40.18 (200 free relay)
- Lewis earns her first swimmer of the week honor of the season and of her career.
