BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands captured the 2024 Mid-South Conference Men's Cross Country Championship Friday at Phil Moore Park.
The Patriots captured their second-straight championship with 26 points.
Cumberlands' Youssef Asslouj took home the individual title, crossing the line in 23:58.3 finishing over 9 seconds faster than the runner-up. With his performance, Boshchuk was named the MSC Runner of the Year.
Cumberland’s Kennedy Bett finished runner-up with a time of 24:09 while Campbellsville Dominic Malel finished third with a time of 24:38.6. Cumberlands’ Luca Madeo and Campbellsville’s Lukas Smithson round out the top five with times of 22:24.6 and 23:37.3.
Cumberland University’s Josh McMillian was voted the MSC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year while Campbellsville Chase Bulten earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors. Additionally Kennedy Bett of Cumberland Earned Freshman Runner of the Year honors.
Campbellsville finished runner-up with 49 points. Cumberland finished 3rd with a score of 79, Freed-Hardeman finished 4th with a score of 115. Lindsey Wilson finished with a score of 130 to come 5th, Bethel finished 6th with a score of 153, and Georgetown finished in 7th with a score of 171.
Cumberlands earns the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Championship on November 22 in Columbia, Missouri.
The top seven runners were named to the First Team All-Mid-South Conference with the next seven runners earning Second Team honors.
