BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Mid-South Conference announced its 2024 Women's Volleyball All-MSC teams and honors on Wednesday.
Cumberlands' (Ky.) Sara Zampedri was named the MSC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year by the conference coaches while teammate Juliet Banks earned Defender of the Year honors for the second year in a row. Campbellsville (Ky.) Jana Krstic was selected as the Setter of the Year. Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Lara Danesi was named the MSC Freshman of the Year. Lindsey Wilson’s (Ky.) Jacob Hepp was named the Coach of the Year while Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Jung Park earned Assistant Coach of the Year honors.
The conference coaches voted on the yearly awards along with the all-conference teams. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Zampedri has 419 kills while averaging 3.55 kills per set. She averages 3.93 points per set, adding 17 assists and 181 digs in the regular season. She has been named conference Attacker of the Week 5 times this season.
Banks has recorded 535 digs this season, averaging 4.42 digs per set. She boasts an impressive serve reception of 92%, while 113 assists on the year and 39 service aces. Banks makes it a 3 peat with these honors and has earned conference Defender of the Week 4 times this season.
Krstic totals an outstanding 1237 assists on the year, averaging 11.04 assists per set, sitting 6th nationally. She adds 73 kills on the season and 207 digs. Krstic was named conference Setter of the Week 7 times this season.
Danesi has had a fantastic first season for the Blue Raiders as she totals 200 digs, 25 service aces, and 175 kills on the season, in only 74 sets. Her season high came against conference opponent Freed-Hardeman where she had 14 kills.
Hepp led the Blue Raiders to a 25-8 record and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with a perfect 12-0 record in the MSC.
Park helped lead the Patriots to a 30-4 overall record and a 9-3 mark in conference play to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
Fourteen players were selected to both the first and second all-conference teams.
