Cumberlands Wins the 2024 MSC Women's Soccer Championship

Columbia, Ky. – No. 1 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) has won the 2024 Women’s Soccer Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship. The Patriots remain undefeated, taking on No.3 seed Cumberland (Tenn.) in a decisive 4-1 victory.
  
This match started slowly with the Patriots and Phoenix sizing each other up, probing each other's defenses for weakness. Cumberlands struck first as Mid-South Player of the Year, Jayden Boelter, would be assisted by Olaya Blanco in the 30th minute. 

The first-half scoring wouldn’t stop there as Cumberlands scored minutes later in the 32nd minute as Nicole Araujo netted the pass from Carola Fontan. Down 2 goals, the Phoenix were in a tough spot searching for a spark, answering the call would be Gabby Jones in the 35th minute. Jones received the pass from Grace Morris, putting Cumberland in a competitive spot, down 1 going into halftime.

The second half would mirror much of the first as both teams focused on ball control and minimizing mistakes with the score remaining 2-1. This is until the 70th minute where Jayden Boelter would score again, this time assisted by Carola Fontan, giving the Patriots a 3-1 lead.

The match was put away in the 73rd minute as the Patriots went up 4-1 after Alba Ramirez netted the pass from Jayden Boelter. With the three-goal lead, the Patriots turned on cruise control, killing the clock and solidifying their greatness with another MSC Tournament Championship. 

The Women’s Soccer Championships will be held at various locations around the nation. 1:00 P.M. C.T. November 16th the NAIA’s selection show will announce the first round, slated to begin November 21st.
