BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The Mid-South Conference announced its 2024 Men's Soccer All-MSC teams and honors on Tuesday.
Cumberlands (Ky.) Jayden Boelter was named MSC Women’s Soccer Player of the Year voted by the conference coaches while teammate Rita Aguye earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Momo Chogyoji was selected as Freshman of the Year. Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Steve Hamilton wins Head Coach of the Year, and Campbellsville’s (Ky.) Trey Henderson wins Assistant Coach of the Year.
The conference coaches voted on the yearly awards along with the all-conference teams. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Boelter totaled 24 goals and 3 assists, totaling 51 points adding, 40% shooting on the season. Boelter had three separate games with a hat trick, currently sitting 7th nationally in goals scored this season.
Aguye totaled 2 goals and 4 assists, totaling 8 points on 40% shooting on the season. Aguye had a season high 2 assists against Jamestown on 9/23, defensively holding opponents to .27 goals a game and only allowing 4 goals to be scored against the whole season.
Chogyoji totaled 10 goals and 7 assists in her freshman campaign to total 27 points on the season. She had a season high 3 goal hat trick on 8/31 against Missouri Baptist. Against Shawnee State 8/21 she would have her season high in assists with 3 in the game.
Hamilton led the Patriots to an undefeated 15-0 season and 6-0 conference season, staying at #1 Nationally. Hamilton, off last year's National Championship Title, has kept the Patriots in gear as he has only lost one game in the past two seasons.
Henderson helped lead the Tigers to an impressive 17-1 regular season and 5-1 conference season. Helping the Tigers stay ranked nationally, ending the season ranked 6th overall.
Twenty Two players were selected to both the first and second all-conference teams.
