Lindsey Wilson Wins the 2024 Women's Volleyball Tournament 11/9/2024 9:04:24 PM Bowling Green Ky. – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) captures the 2024 Mid-South Volleyball Tournament Championship for the 10th time! The Blue Raiders defeated Cumberlands (Ky.) 3 sets to 1(25-20, 25-16, 18-25, 25-20), winning the tournament in dominant fashion. Lindsey Wilson dominated much of this tournament defeating Cumberland University 3-1, where Savanah Pippin and Ola Wyrzykowska posted a combined 31 kills, as Elisa Burzio led the way with 19 kills herself. In the Championship game it was handled by committee, as the team totaled 54 kills. Setting up the Blue Raiders, Luiza Goncalves and Monika Szwarc paved the way as Goncalves would have 23 assists, while Szwarc would have a team high 24 assists. Defensively the Blue Raiders had their hands full as Cumberlands would post an impressive 51 kills, as MSC Player of the Year Sara Zampedri would lead the Patriots with 16 kills of her own. Cumberlands would fight hard in each set, rallying back 5 straight points when they were down 8 in the first set. Lindsey Wilson however was able to tame the offensive. Ola Wyrzykowska would total 18 Digs for the Blue Raiders, as her team totaled 75. Lindsey picking up the first two sets put the Patriots in a tough position, but after rallying back from the same position the night before, Cumberlands was able to pick up set 3. However set 4 went much like set 1, as Lindsey would get up big, then be content with trading points, becoming too much for the Patriots to quell. Lindsey Wilson won in 4 sets, earned the Mid-South Conference Tournament Championship, and earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament, set to begin November 23rd. November 18th at 12 P.M C.T, the NAIA will release their Selection Show, where the Blue Raiders will find out what’s next.
